Monadhliath Winter Berthing TripPosted: December 19, 2016, 1:55 pm
At the end of November the CMS team with support from Stagfire Ecological Surveys crew (www.stagfire.com) moved the Monadhliath to her winter berth in Inverness. The Monadhliath had a very interesting 2016 including seabird and cetacean surveys conducted from her custom built multi-level decks which conform to the highest industry standards. There was also an exciting trip out to the Isle of Mull where the CMS team enjoyed sightings of a pod of killer whales.
The winter berthing trip down Loch Ness and through the Caledonian Canal was enjoyed by all. There were no sightings of Nessie on this occasion, however there was plenty of other wildlife spotted and homemade soup enjoyed along the way.
The Monadhliath will undergo standard maintenance checks and general repairs by Marine Projects Ltd over the winter in preparation for what is lining up to be a very exciting 2017.
